Recently, I have felt the call to go deeper in my walk with the Lord. To study scripture, to pray, and to read my Bible daily. By no means have I been perfect at doing these things, but I have seen a measurable difference in my attitude. Reading scripture daily and praying the truths within it over myself has changed my heart drastically.
Those of you who know me well know that for the majority of my life, I have struggled immensely with anxiety as well as panic attacks. There have been times when my fear has been overwhelming. I like to think of it as an unwanted guest, always present, the fear never left. The thing is, though, that I never asked it to leave. I never made it a point to break free. I thought that fear was a permanent state of mind, but as it turns out, fear is a liar. It creeps into our minds, seeps into our hearts, and makes a home there. I have good news though…
Fear does not have to stay.
You see friend, God has a greater plan for you and I. He did not intend for fear to camp out in our minds. Instead, we can walk in faith, and trust that all things will be okay – actually, they will be better than okay. In Romans 8:28, the scripture tells us that “…we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” You are a loved child of God who is in this season of life on purpose and for a purpose. Fear does not have the final say.
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7
